The Town of Gorham’s Recreation Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Programmer. This position reports directly to the Recreation Director and requires a varied work schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends and is adjusted based on the needs of the Department.
This position is responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and leading recreation and summer camp programs for participants of all ages. Other duties include team sport and facility supervision, maintenance, oversight of participants and volunteers, and office support. The ability to successfully achieve CPR certification within one year of employment and a CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement License within six months of employment is required. The Programmer must be able to deliver excellent customer service to the Gorham community and work effectively with groups of all ages.
A minimum of one year’s experience working with school-aged and adult population is preferred. Experience working in an office or team environment and good computer skills are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a Bachelor’s degree in recreation management or related area is preferred.
